Separate shared vs per-person costs
Group transport and hotel are usually shared costs (not multiplied by headcount). Meals and attraction tickets are per person per day. Separating them makes the estimate more accurate.
Always keep a contingency
Weather, schedule changes, or unexpected costs often come up. Set aside 10–15% of the subtotal as contingency so budget issues don't disrupt the trip.

How much contingency is ideal for a holiday?
Generally 10–15% of the total estimated cost. The farther or less predictable the destination (extreme weather, limited transport), the larger the reserve you should prepare.
Is the hotel counted per person?
No. Here the hotel is counted per night for one room (a shared cost), not per person. If you book several rooms, enter their combined rate as the per-night rate.
How can I cut a holiday budget?
