Two different margins
Retail uses a higher margin serving single buyers; wholesale uses a thinner margin to attract bulk purchases. Price = cost ÷ (1 − margin%).
Wholesale qty threshold
The minimum quantity for a buyer to get the wholesale price. Below it, retail applies. This protects margin while encouraging larger orders.
Profit simulation
The calculator computes total and profit at a given purchase quantity, using the wholesale price if qty reaches the threshold — helping assess your wholesale offer.

Frequently asked questions
How do I set wholesale and retail prices?
Set a margin for each, then price = cost ÷ (1 − margin%). E.g. cost Rp40,000: retail margin 40% → Rp66,667; wholesale margin 20% → Rp50,000.
Why is the wholesale price lower?
Because its margin is thinner, traded for larger sales volume. Wholesale buyers purchase a lot at once, so total profit stays attractive despite lower per-unit profit.
What's a reasonable wholesale margin?
It depends on industry and volume, generally lower than retail (e.g. retail 30–50%, wholesale 10–25%). Test values and see the profit simulation at your target quantity.
How do I set the wholesale quantity threshold?
Choose a minimum that keeps the wholesale price profitable for you and attractive to buyers — e.g. per dozen, box, or carton. Match your customers' buying patterns.
Can there be more than two price tiers?
This calculator focuses on two tiers (wholesale & retail). For more complex tiered schemes, use its output as a base and set additional tiers manually as needed.
