Concrete Rebar Requirement Calculator

Calculate rebar weight (kg) per diameter and number of bars from your rebar list. Free, weight per meter follows the standard.

Rebar list

Fill per rebar type: diameter, number of bars, and length of each bar.

29,6 kg · 4 bars

94,8 kg · 20 bars

Advanced settings

Commercial bar length (usually 12 m).

Prices (optional)

Important — this is an estimate

Estimate based on standard coefficients; real needs depend on specification, work method, and field conditions. For an accurate BoQ, consult Luxury Art.

Coefficients reference SNI AHSP (typical values, adjustable).

Rebar requirement

Total rebar weight124,4 kg
D10 · 4 bars29,6 kg
D8 · 20 bars94,8 kg

Calculates rebar quantity & weight for an already-determined design — it does not judge whether the reinforcement is adequate. Excludes laps/splices & hooks.

How to calculate rebar needs

Weight = length × weight per meter

Each rebar diameter has a fixed weight per meter (a physical constant): D10 ≈ 0.617 kg/m, D13 ≈ 1.04 kg/m, and so on. Total weight = bars × length × weight per meter.

Convert to commercial bars

Rebar is sold per bar, usually 12 meters. The calculator sums total length per diameter then divides by 12 m to give the number of bars you need to buy (rounded up).

Quantity ≠ structural adequacy

This calculator computes rebar needs for an already-determined design. Judging whether that reinforcement is strong enough for the load is a structural engineer's job — not a calculator's.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

What is the weight of concrete rebar per meter?

Weight per meter depends on diameter: D8 ≈ 0.395 kg/m, D10 ≈ 0.617, D12 ≈ 0.888, D13 ≈ 1.04, D16 ≈ 1.578, D19 ≈ 2.23, D22 ≈ 2.98 kg/m. These are physical constants from steel density, so no need to change them unless using a different standard.

How long is one rebar?

Rebar in Indonesia is generally sold per 12-meter bar. The calculator uses 12 m as the default to compute bar count, but you can change it under Advanced Settings if your supplier uses a different length.

Does this calculate stirrups?

It calculates from the rebar list you fill in. For full element reinforcement with stirrups and hooks, use a per-element approach: enter each rebar type (main and stirrup) as a separate row with its total length.

Are laps/overlaps included?

No. Splice/overlap and hook lengths depend on design and aren't auto-calculated here. For a precise BoQ, add overlap length per your working drawings, or ask the Luxury Art team to help.

How do I estimate the rebar cost?

Enter the rebar price per kg in the price field and the calculator multiplies it by total weight. Rebar prices vary by region and fluctuate, so always use the current local price.
